Arriving in 1982 from Cuba without a penny in their pockets, the Casaubon family, Pablo, Cristina, Luis, and Lisel were determined to succeed. Pablo and Cristina immediately started working at a local commercial printing company. To further provide an extra source of income, Pablo mowed lawns after his full-time job. The extra money he earned was used to fulfill their dream of opening their own print shop.
In December of 1986, after much hard work and dedication, the Casaubon family founded Rush American Printing in the garage of their home. However, Pablo and Cristina’s main objective was to provide an education for their two young children. The small business was successful; customers were satisfied with the price, service, and quality. After four years of operating from their garage, the print shop moved to a commercial location.
Rush American Printing, Inc. has grown from a home-based business to a main competitor within the San Antonio metropolitan area. Over time, the company has evolved with technological changes in the printing industry. Rush American Printing, Inc. has built a reputation of meeting clients' needs with honesty and integrity. Their current clientele represents large corporations and many small businesses.
Rush American Printing, Inc. is a perfect example of the American Dream, but what Pablo and Cristina have been most proud of is achieving their original goal—their children’s education. In 2000, their son Luis received a Doctorate in Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, Texas. He later finished his fellowship in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology in Tampa, Florida and is currently practicing at Texas Diabetes and Endocrinology in Austin, Texas. He is married to Kristen and they have three beautiful daughters. Their daughter Lisel received her Bachelor of Business in 1999 from St. Mary’s University and her Master in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2002. She is married to Abdiel Vinas, and they have one dog named Milly. Since 2002, Lisel has taken a lead role within the company and has worked within all departments of the print shop. Her true passion is working with clients to see their print vision come to life.
In 2013, after the unfortunate passing of Cristina from triple negative breast cancer, Pablo and Lisel were forced to regroup and reorganize the company's day-to-day operations. Missing a key player of their team brought many uncertainties, but with the love, support, and encouragement received from family, clients, and friends, the father/daughter team has continued to grow and expand their family business.
In 2018, Rush American Printing, Inc. launched their social division—Write On Paper Boutique. This line carries personalized social stationery that helps customers celebrate life's many joyous events. As the company continues to grow and diversify itself to meet their client's needs, Rush American Printing, Inc. continues to pride itself in its excellent customer service and never losing sight of what is most important...their clients!
